Introduction

Al Hamy Metals (AHM) is a major player in metal fabrication in the gulf region and Africa. Since it was established the company kept growing at a regular pace even through diferent recession period that hit the region consecutavely.

The company was able to build a very good reputation for its diverse production lines and had the oportunity to work the most iconic and major projects in the area.

The opportunities that were taken by Al Hamy Metals and the never increasing precision fabrication needed to complete such projects shaped the future of the company.

Nowadays, Al Hamy Metals is considered the most advanced company involved in Metal works in Asia and Africa.

Company History

In 1954, Al Hamy Metal Factory was Established by the visionary Mr Mohamad Riad Daouk who had extreme interest and knowledge in metal, metal work and metal casting. Upon his arrival to Kuwait city , Mr. Daouk opened a workshop where he started doing metal work and metal casting including gold, silver, aluminum.

Few years later he saw and realized the upcoming change in the market demand due the petrol boom. At that time palaces and villas started to appear and these projects needed metal decoration and art work which was not available at that time in Kuwait.

Backed by a very good knowledge and know how in metals, Mr Daouk started offering solution using stainless steel, gold, copper, bronze for all kind of artistic metal work. Soon, projects started flowing and what started as a small workshop with 25 employees had to be extended to a small factory with 300 employees.

Having had a huge success in Kuwait, Al Hamy started looking to expend in the gulf region and so did they. They acquired projects in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Syria and Jordan. Although Al Hamy covered these regions, they kept the factory in Kuwait and the employee number reached 600.

It was not until 1971, after the United Arab Emirates unification that Al Hamy decided to extablish a factory in the UAE. Their move came after a planned and thorough study where they saw a good opportunity for the new born country with a virgin infrasctructure. Once again the decision was correct and the small factory became bigger attending 1000 employees.

During the invasion of Kuwait Al Hamy factory in Kuwait city was totaly attached and stollen by thieves. All the equipment were stollen, even the hangar was totaly dismantled and moved to an unknow destination. IT was not until 2006 that Al Hamy reopened a new workshop in Kuwait city.

Today Al Hamy covers all the Gulf region, Middle East region and North Africa all from one factory and remote sub-workshops. It is important to mention that throughout this long experience and workmanship, Al Hamy was able to establish special business relationship with major metal and equipment providers through the globe which improves further more the capabilties of the company.

Today and after the death of Mr. Mohamad, his sons took control of the company following the path placed earlier by their father.
